Looking for organic cloth diapers? Wanting to support work at home moms? You want affordable prices, you say? Then Mama Natures Designs is the Etsy shop for you. Mama Natures Designs features wool wrap covers, embellished prefolds, one size fitted diapers and hemp nursing pads; all organic! Andrea, the shop owner, hand dyes the wool used for her wraps. She achieves beautiful, bright colors that would be perfect for a boy or girl.

Wool is a great diapering fabric choice. It is antibacterial, naturally resistant to mildew and can regulate body temperature. Not to mention that it is a truly renewable resource! Wool is a wonderful natural alternative to plastics such as PUL (polyurethane laminate). Living in the hot, humid, world of Texas, I was always afraid that wool would be too hot for my little one. Until I won a wool cover. I was instantly amazed at how well it kept my little one's sensitive skin dry.

Andrea also makes organic fitted diapers that are one size. I love the fold down adjustment for the rise. I actually prefer it to snap down adjustability. The organic cotton velour looks scrumptious.

MariQ's Etsy shop, Flourish, is full wonderful accessories for at home or on the go. She carries cell phone/camera cases, Laptop cases, coffee cuffs, changing stations (a changing pad with a place to store diapers and wipes) and baby blankets. Family pets are not left out; MariQ's makes collars in designer fabrics. I love the idea of the coffee cuff. What a wonderful, easy way to reduce our consumption of paper goods.

Nature's Fabrics is a wonderful source for bulk fabrics and fabric by the yard. They carry great fabrics for making cloth diapers; wool, bamboo, cotton, hemp, and PUL. Not sure about making your own diapers? Don't know where to start? Nature's Fabrics has many different diaper patterns for purchase including fitteds and two different wool covers. There are even patterns for onesies, pajamas, and training pants.

Nature's Fabrics wants the best for you, your baby and the environment. PUL has come into question lately. That's why Nature's Fabrics PUL is free from metals, phthalates and latex. The PUL is made in accordance with new PUL application standards. There are VOC's (volatile organic compounds) emitted during production. It's great to hear that fabric suppliers are caring where their products come from and how they are made!

Nature's Fabrics also sells fitted cloth diapers, wool covers, breast pads, and cloth feminine pads. They carry four different types of wool covers; a side snapping interlock, a pull on cover, side snapping interlock pants, longies, and a snapping wool cover with cuffs. I was given the opportunity to review the fitted diaper. Read below to find out more.

The Review

Jeanne from Nature's Fabrics sent me a Covered Caboose fitted diaper to review. This is a side snapping, one size fits most bamboo fitted. Side snapping diapers are great for eliminating wing droop. There are five snap adjustments for the waist but none for the rise. There is a snap in tri-fold insert made of three layers of bamboo. There is also a lay in booster made with two layers of bamboo. The bamboo is incredibly soft and luxurious. Elastic at the waist guarantees a proper fit. The customer service at Nature's Fabrics was very friendly. Jeanne responded incredibly quickly to my inquiries.

When I was pregnant with my second child, I worked with a lady who made cloth diapers in her home. I did assistant seamstress stuff and learned A LOT about cloth diapers. I really enjoyed the work (which is good because she paid me horribly). I, of course, got an employee discount and my daughter, Sally, had a rather large stash! It would have been nice to see her use the high quality fabrics that Nature's Fabrics carries. Especially all the organic and print fabrics they have. I feel that if she did, she would have had a much better success rate with customers.

Another great things about Nature's Fabrics is that all Covered Caboose products come with a lifetime guarantee on both snaps and elastic. All you need to do if you ever have problems is contact Nature's Fabrics and they can assist you in repairing your items.

My trim little 31lb guy.

Ease of Use: This diaper washed and dried up great. I find side snapping diapers somewhat tedious though. They just aren't as easy as front snapping diapers. It would be nice if the tri-fold insert was longer for older boy babies for more wet zone protection.

Fit: With the insert and the booster I found the diaper bulky. Very absorbent, but bulky. I didn't have trouble fitting it in any of the covers that we have. The diaper has a very good seal around the thighs without leaving red marks.

Materials: Bamboo velour and bamboo jersey

Cost: $16.50

Overall Opinion: In my opinion, the Covered Caboose fitted diaper is best for older babies. James loved this diaper on his bum because of the softness. It held messes really well and we never had any issues with leaks.

I'd like to thank Nature's Fabrics for being a sponsor for Newborn in the New Year event.
You can have your chance at winning the same diaper that I reviewed coming up soon!

The idea for GoGo Natural started when Meredith was hiking in Arizona. She was pondering the question the many stay at home moms do, "How can I stay at home with my baby"? Meredith went one further; she wondered how she could also do "something noble and pure for the betterment of future generations." GoGo Natural wants to "empower other women to live their dreams of financial prudence with good environmental stewardship". What a great company to support!

What started out as a cloth diapering business has expanded to include many other natural baby products. From cloth diapers and cloth diapering accessories to nursing supplies to baby carriers and natural laundry care, GoGo natural has become a favorite go-to online retailer of mine. The customer service is top notch and very friendly not to mention the great products offered.

GoGo Natural carries products like Baby Kangas (I'd like to try these), LanaCare wool nursing pads, and Bummis cloth diapering kits.

GoGo Natural has some great resources for cloth diaper information. There is an article on the most popular natural fabrics used in cloth diapering and a great chart on cloth diaper safe laundry detergents. GoGo Natural has a diaper calcuator that can show you what kind of savings you would be making if you used cloth diapers.

The Review:

I had the pleasure of reviewing a Dinkledooz diaper in red. In an effort to make cloth diapering the norm, Dinkledooz focused on some of the most requested features for their diapers. This cloth diaper is a one size pocket with snap closures. It comes with 2 sized microfiber inserts ; one for the smaller settings and one for the larger. Only the best materials are used in the manufacturing of this diaper. Plus, this diaper has a great price point that will fit any cloth diapering budget.

I was surprised how soft the inner microfleece was when I got this diaper in the mail. So soft and comfy. I've heard PUL described as soft and silky but never actually seen PUL like that in real life. The PUL that I've come in contact with seems somewhat stiff and plasticy instead of cloth-like. The PUL used by Dinkledooz IS that soft, cloth-like fabric. I actually like to stuff the pockets in this diaper.

My favorite feature about this diaper is the extra long flap in the pocket opening at the back of the diaper. This flap is approximately 1.5 inches long and tucks into the pocket opening to keep the insert from coming out or sliding around. I also like the snap configuration. It has one hip snap for thigh adjustment and two snaps for the waist. The configuration is reminiscent of a Fuzzi Bunz.

Here is the Dinkledooz on James. I wish you could reach out and feel PUL.

Ease of Use: I have to say, with a wiggly two year old, getting six snaps on is not an easy task. Washing and drying is easy. After using this diaper daily for about a month, it still looks like new! The six snaps do help with wing droop.

Fit: This diaper is so trim yet incredibly absorbent. The thigh snaps offer great adjust ability for chunky or trim thighs. My son is still on the middle rise of this diaper so he has a lot of room to grow. It's a little large for my newest one. She's over the 10 lbs mark usually recommended for one size diapers but still doesn't fit in this one. We'll try again soon though.

Materials: PUL outer (This is some of the softest PUL I've ever seen), microfleece inner. Insert is microfiber.

Cost: The normal price for Dinkledooz is $17.95 but right now GoGo Natural is offering a special introductory rate of 30% off! Right now the diaper is $12.56. A great deal!

Overall Opinion: This is one of my favorite diaper in our stash. It's a go to straight from the laundry basket. It fits James so well and we've never had any leaks with it. The red color is so much more vibrant than the pictures show. This is a great overnight option as you can add as much absorbency as you need. I'd grab a couple at the introductory price if I were you!
