I love what Party In My Pants stands for:
- finding style and comfort in unexpected places
- revolutionizing the way women experience menstruation by changing attitudes and empowering through education, while having a healthy dose of humor
- The focus is to have women be healthy, happy and confident and for menstrual products to have a positive impact on women's health and a neutral impact on the environment.
There is so much information on the Party In My Pants website. You can scan the FAQ's page and find the answer you've been looking for to just about any question on cloth pads. Confused about which of the 9 pads you should choose? Take the Pad Prescription quiz to find out which pad would be best for you. If you are considering using cloth but afraid to make the initial financial commitment you can get a free liner (mini, demi or luxe) for just $3.99 to cover shipping with the Cloth Pad Curious Page. That's the price of a coffee, plus a cloth liner is probably way more environmentally friendly than that coffee!
Lydia gave me the opportunity to review Party In My Pants pads. I chose three different sizes: Medium in Honeymoon, Large in Lumberjill (such a clever name) and a Luxe liner in bloom. Since I've only had my cycle 5 times in the last 5 years (being pregnant and/or nursing) I used the pads for postpartum bleeding after the birth of Charlotte.
Left: Large in Lumberjill, Medium in Honeymoon, Luxe Liner in Bloom.
Right: (from bottom)Large in Lumberjill, Medium in Honeymoon, Luxe Liner in Bloom.
Materials: Party In My Pants pads come in a variety of materials. You can get pads made from comfy flannel, cotton, organic flannel or organic cotton. The backside of the pad is lined with leak proof nylon. There is a nickle free metal snap to keep the pad in place.
Care: It is recommended that you wash your pads on warm and dry the on medium or low heat. You can always hand wash and air dry too. I threw the pads in with my diaper laundry (which i wash once a day) and had great results. No staining! I was really glad about that because there are so many awesome fabrics! You can read more about cloth pad care here.
Fit: All the pads I used were trim and so comfortable. WAY more comfortable than the disposables I used the first few days after Charlotte's birth. The wings snapped well over my undies and stayed in place. I never had problems with bunching. Plus you could never tell I was wearing them; very discreet.
Favorite: I love the Luxe liner! Very thin, yet incredibly absorbent. I wore the liner out at the end of my postpartum bleeding and it was wonderful. I can see how this liner would be great for the very beginning and end of your flow too. If you're looking for extra protection while using a Diva Cup or other type of menstrual products, these are for you.
Cost: $9.99 to $16.99. There are also kits you can buy that include almost everything you need to start using cloth pads.
Overall Opinion: Party In My Pants pads worked so well for me. The pads are super absorbent; I never experienced any leaks. The soft materials offered superior comfort and a serious cuteness factor. What a great company to support! I will be buying more of Party In My Pants Pads especially the Luxe liner, it was my favorite.
