She asks the following questions about every product: Is the product sustainable at every point in its lifespan? Is the product made of natural fibers, free from petroleum-derived synthetics? (Excluding trims such as snaps, aplix and elastic) and Does it work? There is a wonderful and very informative FAQ's section on their website that answers many questions that some of you might have. The Review:
Laura was so generous to send me a Loveybums organic cotton fitted cloth diaper to review! The Loveybums Organic Cotton fitted diaper has two layers of certified organic cotton fleece and a snap in soaker that is made of two layers of organic cotton velour. The diaper is constructed of the highest quality. The cotton is plush and absorbent, yet trim. The velour soaker snaps in at the back with three snaps and is super soft even after many many washings! The diaper offers a snap closure with a cross over snap for trimmer babes. Plus, Loveybums is a family owned and operated business located in Massachusetts.
Ease of Use: There are three snaps on each wing of the diaper for a secure closure. One of my favorite things about this diaper is that the cross over snap is on the right wing. I always fasten that side of any diaper first and find that nine times out of ten that cross over snaps are on the left. I've tried this diaper under many different covers and all look trim. One of my favorite things about this diaper is that it really does dry in one dryer cycle. I have some fitteds that are still damp on their thickest parts after one cycle.
Fit: It's not always easy to get a wiggly toddler to stay still for 6 snaps but the wide range of adjustablity is well worth it. This diaper fit my son perfectly but still left room to grow. That is why I'm a fan of sized diapers.
Materials: The diaper is made of 100% certified organic cotton fleece and cotton velour.
Cost: You can purchase this diaper from Eden Cloth Diapering Company for $20.50.
Overall Opinion: Knowing that Laura and her family test all their products so well, I knew I was not going to be disappointed. This diaper got used straight from the dryer. I just couldn't wait to use it. The ability to contain messes was amazing. The absorbency was great and it's organic! My husband was able to use it without any problems (not like he is cloth diaper incapable or anything). The Loveybums diaper was also a great overnight option. This diaper seems to be the perfect fit on my son; even around his trim thighs and belly. I'd highly recommend this brand to novices and veteran cloth diaper users alike!
I'd like to thank Laura and Eden Cloth Diapering Company for being a sponsor for A Merry Fluffy Christmas and letting me review a wonderful product! Keep an eye out for a Loveybums fitted cloth diaper in a prize package starting December 1-5th!
