Sponsorship Spotlight #24: ReThink Crafts***Extra Entries*** Plus Review

Cynthia, the brains behind ReThink Crafts, is a mother of three who loves to create out of recycled materials. Living in Oregon, a place where people are eco-friendly, has inspired her to create using reclaimed and repurposed materials. Cynthia's Etsy store focuses on cloth diaper covers but her blog is filled with other great crafts.

Cynthia started making diaper covers for her son when she realized that the more covers she had, the less laundry she had to do. She has worked hard to modify the design; providing comfort and minimize leakage. The diaper wraps are made to cover any diaper. They are affordable and have super cute prints.

NEW- Cloth Diaper Covers-Fall Mums- medium
This Fall Mums pattern is one of my favorites!

NEW- Cloth Diaper Cover- Going for Ride- Large
"Going for a Ride" is a super fun.

The Review:

Cynthia sent me two diaper covers (a small and a medium) to review. Sadly, I'll have to wait to try them out as they are too small for James. But Baby should be here any day now! The covers have some of the cutest fabric I've seen. I told Cynthia to surprise me and these covers are "me". I love the brown dots and the yellow bird print. The diaper covers has a waterproof layer of PUL to keep leaks at bay. It also has strong velcro to ensure a great fit. The cover is lightweight so it cuts down on bulkiness.

Materials: Cotton outer with PUL inner. Velcro closure.

Cost: Cynthia has her products very competitively priced. At $13.00 a piece they are very affordable.

Overall Opinion: The covers have a great look to them. My son wanted to put the cover on his Baby Sam doll and it looks really cute. The velcro is strong and I can tell that even a toddler would have a hard time pulling these off. I can't wait to try these out!

Thanks Cynthia and ReThink Crafts for being a part of this wonderful event. Stay tuned for her products in a prize package coming up in a few hours!

Sponsorship Spotlight #21: Baby Legs ***Extra Entries***

BabyLegs is was started in 2005 when a mother was faced with her daughter's diaper rash that wouldn't dissapear. In order for the rash to heal, it needed air. That left the little one cold. In a moment of inspiration, Momma cut the feet off of a pair of socks and hiked them up to her daughters hips, protecting her from getting cold. These leg warmers not only keep little ones warm, they make diaper changing and potty learning easier.

The BabyLegs brand has grown considerable since then and their line of products is quite lovely.
They now offer Leg Warmers, a Newborn series, Baby Socks and Girls Tights. I've never tried BabyLegs but I plan to with this next baby. They just seem such a useful accessory to cloth diapering. I don't know about you but I let my little one run around in his "fuzzy" all day until we go out somewhere. Plus BabyLegs has some super cute designs.

These Arctic Blast Leg Warmers from BabyLegs' Holiday line are one of my favorites.

I love the colors on the Sugared Oats Baby socks.

My daughter would love the colors in these Rodeo Queen tights.

Coupon Code: BabyLegs graciously gave those of us involved in the Merry Fluffy Christmas event a 20% discount code!! Enter FLUFFY20 upon checkout. Good through December 24th, 2010.

I'd like to thank BabyLegs for their generosity. Not only are they sponsoring Knocked Up and Nursing but ALL the participating blogs in A Merry Fluffy Christmas! There will be a BabyLegs grab bag worth $50 in a prize package.

Heather started Natural Grace after trying to find a solution for her daughter, Grace. Grace was always breaking out with hive-like patches all over her body. After many failed trips to the doctor, Heather began her own research. She learned about teh dangers associated with the use of many chemicals found in most commercial and synthetic bath and body products. After using products that were natural, little Grace was cured!

"As a mom I strongly believe that we need to limit the exposure to chemicals as childrens systems are much more sensitive and prone to developing negative side effects. Even as an adult its never too late to make the switch and enjoy natural goodness.
I hope you will enjoy my products and find them to be not only great for your skin but food mind, body and soul!"

I couldn't have said it better myself. It's never too late to treat your skin well!

All the products that Heather makes are made in small batches, are non-toxic, affordable and eco-friendly. Her products contain only the best natural and organic ingredients. Natural Grace is a member of the Leaping Bunny Organization which ensures that her products are cruelty free and vegan. She is also a proud signer of the PETA Statement of Assurance.

Natural Grace's product line includes foot soaks, bottom butters, body butters, lotions, household cleaners and a skin care line.

Refreshing Foot Soak with Peppermint and Tea Tree
This foot soak has Peppermint and tea tree oil in it along with Dead Sea salts.

Whipped Body Butter Vanilla Sandalwood with Shea Butter, Sesame and Avocado
Vanilla Sandalwood body butter...I can almost smell it!

Citrus Oregano Natural Spray Cleaner
This cleaner combines the antiviral and antibacterial properties of oranges and oregano to clean, disinfect and degrease.

The Review:

Baby Wipe Solution

Heather sent me a bottle of Natural Grace baby Wipes Solution Concentrate to review. I switched over to cloth wipes maybe four or five months ago. Even as an avid cloth diapering mama, I never thought to use them until a couple months ago when buying the "natural" wipes became too expensive. Cloth wipes are so much more efficient at cleaning up poo and other messes. They hold more, they "grip" better and they are so much softer on baby's bum. Not to mention that you can control the ingredients your wipes solution.

The directions for the wipes solution says to put 1-2 Tablespoons in one to one and a half cups of distilled water and store in a sterile container. I started with 1 teaspoon of solution concentrate to a little over one cup of water and poured it over about 12 wipes and kept them in a glass tupperware-like container. This wet method was different than what I had been doing with my wipes. I had been using a spray bottle of solution and just spraying a wipe when needed. I must say that I think I now prefer the wet storage method. My first thought was that there was no way that all that water could be absorbed by the wipes but they were thirsty. I found that the perfect mixture for our use is a heaping teaspoon of concentrate to a little over one cup of water then poured over about 15 wipes. The prep time was literally a minute. If you can pour yourself a glass of water, you have time to make your own wipes solution!

Overall Opinion: The solution concentrate has a very nice, light citrusy smell. It also cut down on James' redness around the thighs that he sometimes has. He has such sensitive skin. I felt that the solution concentrate kept James clean and smelling fresh. We never experienced any "soapy" feeling, just cleanness. Also, I've been using this non stop since the middle of September and the bottle is maybe one fourth gone. This is going to last forever! I highly reccommend this product for someone who is looking for a great, natural, safe alternative for their babes!

Thanks Heather and Natural Grace for being a sponsor for A Merry Fluffy Christmas! Heather has contributed a bottle of wipes solution concentrate to a prize pack.

Eco Nuts are biodegradable, antimicrobial, hypoallergenic, 100% natural, safe for septic systems, sustainable, fragrance free, vegan alternative to other kinds of detergents. They are safe for babies and cloth diapers and great for people with sensitive skin.

So what is an "Eco Nut"? Eco Nuts are completely sustainable, dried fruit shells that come from the Sapindus Mukorossi tree that is native to Nepal, India and Indonesia. Eco Nuts uses only the highest quality "soap nut" that grow naturally in the Himalayas. The fruit shells have been used in India and China for centuries and are now growing in popularity in other parts of the world as an alternative to harsh detergents.

How do Eco Nuts work? Eco Nuts contain saponin, a natural cleaner that works as a surfactant, breaking the surface tension of the water to penetrate the fibers of your laundry. This also lifts
stains. The antimicrobial properties of Eco Nuts make them great for septic and grey water systems.

Packaging: Eco Nuts strives to have as little impact on the environment as possible. That includes what they use to get the products to you. Plastic is avoided whenever possible. Eco Nuts incorporates recycled, repurposed, sustainable and organic materials whenever possible.

The Eco Nuts website is full of great information on "soap nuts" and laundry care. Visit their FAQ's page for some useful information on Eco Nuts.

Sponsorship Spotlight #17: Haddy Grace Designs ***Extra Entries*** Plus Review

A Merry Fluffy Christmas is approaching rather rapidly! Only three more days until the big day. Meet a wonderful sponsor who will be joining us, Haddy Grace Designs. (Sponsorship Spotlight post order was chosen via Random.org).

RuthAnn Zimmerman is the owner of HaddyGrace Designs. As a stay at home mom of four kiddos, she loves to design and create clothes for her kids. All of her creations are always tried out on her own kids to make sure that the items are of the highest quality for you. The idea for HaddyGrace Designs was born soon after RuthAnn's youngest daughter was born. RuthAnn began sewing for her the newest addition to her family and soon she was getting requests from her friends.

HaddyGrace Designs has soft soled shoes for boys and girls, Sweater dresses, Pillowcase dresses, Baby Bean Slings and cloth diapers. RuthAnn custom makes each sling according to your measurements to ensure the proper fit.

These soft soled shoes are lined with fleece to keep baby's feet warm.

Made with high quality knit fleece, these sweater dresses come with either a dragonfly or mushroom aplique.

The Review:

RuthAnn sent me a diaper to review. We received a blue cloth diaper in large. HaddyGrace cloth diapers were designed after RuthAnn tried many different brands of cloth diapers with no luck. After experiencing leaks and bulkiness from expensive diapers she created a pattern of her own and got sewing.

Diaper Type: Pocket

Ease of Use: The velcro helps make diaper changes quick. There is a large opening for the pocket so even my husband could stuff it. RuthAnn includes microfiber towels as her liners, which were hard to stuff into the pockets. The towel seemed to catch on the PUL and stick.

Fit: The velcro closure has cross over tabs to ensure a proper fit for your little one. The diaper come in three sizes: Small (fits 12-22 pounds), Medium (fits 15-30 pounds), and Large (fits 22 pounds +). The large fit my little guy who is 30 pounds well. No leaking or red marks around the legs.

Materials: The outer shell is made from Poly Urethane Laminate (PUL). The inner layer is micro fleece. The inserts are microfiber terry towels.

Cost: $12.00

Overall Opinion: RuthAnn did her testing well. We never experienced any leaks with this diaper. My only issue with this diaper is that there are no laundry tabs. RuthAnn suggests fastening the diaper before laundering and turning the microfleece side out. I found that the velcro did not stay fastened during the washing cycle but did during the drying process.

I'd like to thank RuthAnn for being a part of A Merry Fluffy Christmas and sending us a diaper to review. She will be offering a $25 gift certificate to her online store during a Merry Fluffy Christmas.
